This post caught my eye..... My old '88 C2500 leaned a 1/2 inch to one side at the rear. I bought it with 10,000 miles on it, from the original owner in 1990. I lived in Orange County, California. There was a local company ( can you believe it), called "Leaf Spring Specialists", in Anaheim. The leaf springs were built differently. ( I thought it was to counter the weight of the fuel tank? )....
They inspected the springs and determined the left side was for a van, and the other on the right was correct. They have seen this before..... It was due to a parts supply issue during assembly, and didn't announce the problem.
Under warranty, ..... GM refused to correct the faulty build. There was no TSB on the problem.

As far as I know the G10 and 20 vans from around that time had 2 1/4" wide leaf springs. Only the G30 got the 2 1/2" ones.

Do you remember if that was the issue?
I have a G20 and I'm wondering if I could potentially cram regular 2.5" truck springs onto it.
