Here's a preview of the transmission powder coated in Forged Charcoal. Transmission upgrades/replacements include the following:

- Sonnax HD sun shell kit
- Sonnax extra wide 2-4 band
- Sonnax rear stator support bushing
- Borg Warner friction modules
- GM 3-4 upgrade kit with steel modules
- GM wiring harness

My transmission technician said it's the second best 4L60-E he has ever disassembled. The lettering on the friction modules was still highly visible and, if I really wanted, I could have reassembled it without replacing any components. Needless to say, I wasn't about to do that.

Like most projects, it started with simple intentions. I started by replacing the door hinge bushings and pins; inner and outer door handles; door latches; side view mirrors; outer window sweeps; and other items. I also replaced the door wiring harness tape and associated clips.
When i did that I called it Doorapalooza! Alternately, Doormageddon! I took a day per door, much auto repair language was utilized..

You are doing the build that a lot of us dream about.

It wasn't long ago that I was dreaming of such a build. I've been blessed in recent years after having very little disposal income for the first 15 years of my marriage. I will undoubtedly look back on this project with fond memories for many years to come.

After three weekends and 25+ hours, I'm finally done cleaning, re-taping, and installing new split loom on the engine/transmission/transfer case harness. I also cleaned each individual connector. The ends of the split loom are wrapped like the factory did it---around the wire, through the split, and around the loom.

*Edit* For anyone wondering, I used 3M Scotch 88 Heavy-Duty Grade Vinyl Electrical Tape and Electriduct split loom. The latter is manufactured in Canada and is quite dense/strong, unlike the cheap garbage sold at AutoZone and other automotive stores.
