I'm looking to replace the struts/shocks on my 95 Z71. Truck won't be doing any off-roading and I won't be towing very much. I do plan on carrying a plow during snowy conditions, and will be plowing my driveway along with my neighbors' driveways and a small parking lot or 2.

I just want basic replacements, as I'm not sure how old the shocks on the truck are, but I'm pretty sure they're due.

I'm looking at KYB Excel-G from www.shockwarehouse.com. They are cheap... Is anyone using these shocks currently?

Kyb is considered an OK'ish replacement shock. They often have defects and need to be returned. I don't think they are a good choice for a plow. My brother had a set on his old 2 door Tahoe and they started leaking within a year of Daily driving and maybe 2 camping trips. If you just want replacements I recommend the stock z71 shocks.
