Does anyone know if its possible to swap our weak ass 8.25" front diff and shafts found in the 1500's with the beef of the 9.25" front diff in the 2500's?

I've read a lot about this lately. Consensus is that the mounting points are so different that it's just as easy to do a SAS. You would have to cut all the old brackets off and weld the 9.25 ones on. You would also have to switch suspension arms and run 8 bolt wheels.

You can use 2500 CVs, brakes and lower control arms on a 1500. The diff itself must stay the same. I would like to see you break the 8.25 its not at easy as you think.

That really sux. My ultimate goal was a SAS but its just not in my budget until I pay down some student loans. So I am treating my self to a DC lift coming up in feb. as a grad present to myself. I've wheeled IFS before with my dad in our s10 and in my tacoma I know its stronger than everyone thinks I've just heard horror stories about the 8.25" and was curious. Oh well I'm sure parts aren't that expensive anyway if stuff did explode lol thanks guys

Ive seen those, stronger shafts will be a must, even tho the DC kit will keep angles great and strong, I also wanted the 9.25" for a locker, the only option with the 8.25" is welding it.
