idler pulley

quick question : Is the idler pulley supposed to begrooved or not?

well it depends on where it goes. my 88 with a/c the tensioner/idler pulley was smooth, and it was supposed to have one by the a/c on the lower side of it, I think it was grooved, but seems like it should have been smooth.

Now on my 88 with no a/c the tensioner/idler pulley is grooved.

yes it sure was on my 88. righty loosey and lefty tighty.
