How much weight is the bumper okay for?

Would a bumper receiver like this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00076PHRI...TF8&colid=2R7E85TCLOFH7&coliid=I12P7ECYJQCRAH be okay for a landscape/utility trailer? 3 maybe 4,000 lbs at the most... Bumper is stamped V-5

Thinking of a trailer like this http://www.horseclicks.com/2014-big-tex-35sv-10-vanguard-utility-trailer/trailers/553030 About 1,000 lbs empty. Just for hauling lumber, gravel, dirt, etc...

I wouldn't use it. I would just buy a real hitch. They are fairly easy to install and are a whole lot stronger. I'd bet you could pick one up for around $100. Or look for a used one for even less

stock bumper is good for 4000 lbs and 400 lbs tongue. at least mine is.

You can't see mine and I have a 3" BL in fact I had to trim my bumper to get the hitch in it

The stock bumper on my '97 1500 says 5000 pounds max.

The only reason i dont use my bumper is because it sits too high. BIG TEX trailers are hard to beat. Have you tried the junkyard for a hitch?

as I understand it, a bumper is a class II so 3500 lbs. My blazer was 3500 on the bumper and id expect atleast the same from a full size. If the bumper is bent, rusted or otherwise compromised maybe less.
TLDR: yes the bumper will probably work for you, if your using it more than once get the IV/V hitch.
