Not familiar with the 91 4.3 V6 but it looks like a capacitor and I suspect it is tied into the ignition coil, probably to eliminate radio interference.

Looks likes an old condenser from a points ignition system except longer wire and a bonus plug? But that ignition was long gone by the time our trucks rolled off the factory.

Where did you find it? Was it connected anywhere? Sitting in glove box?

That is a condenser off the old style distributors that had points, they prevented arcing across the points when they opened.

A condenser for a point distributor wouldn't have that much wire on it. It's like maybe 2 inches long and fits inside the distributor on my Buick.

This looks like it's some sort of noise suppression for a radio. When I was a kid my dad had an old radio that may have been in his 68 mustang and it had something like this on it.
