That's the flange that your axel bolts to. I don't think it's removable unless you take the diff apart. I could be wrong, maybe someone else will chime in with better info.

If I remember correctly, you have to take the diff apart to get it out, but I could be wrong as I didn't look into it too heavily.

its a stub shaft and they actually pop out without splitting the case but i dont think its possible without dropping the diff. also OP, next time dont start 3 threads for the same thing.
