Hello everyone,
Just picked up my first GMC truck, its a 98, 6 1/2 ft bed, has the extra cab with the 3rd door. 5.7 ltr automatic and 4wd. Im currently replacing all the original front suspension parts. Runs good so after this should be just cosmetic stuff.

As Ive been researching parts Ive noticed I occasionally get asked about which trim the truck is. The title just says K1500, year and make. VIN check doesn't show anything about the trim. How do I tell?

Welcome.
Does your truck have an emblem in the location indicated by the attached picture? It signifies trim level such as SL, SLE, SLT on The GMCs.
My Chevy has Cheyenne there.

Yes, LT, LTZ shows up when Im researching parts. No emblem anywhere on the truck.

Does it have any RPO codes in the Glove box? I know the Chevy trucks have them Not sure about GMC

The trim shouldn't be an issue replacing the suspension.
