heat related idle/run issues, need more brains

new O2s didnt do a damn thing.... I have a new gasket for the egr, I'll swap them out tomorrow as well as double check the torque specs on my exhaust system.

I'm having this exact same problem on my 96 C1500 5.7L with a freshly rebuilt engine...and about the only thing I haven't replaced is the coolant temp. sensor, so I figured I would throw this out as a suggestion since I'm pretty sure if that went bad it would give out those symptoms

Have you checked the IAC to make sure it is not stuck closed?

I've replaced it a few months back but I'll check it out just to be safe
