Quite common in the warmer drier climates, I'm told

When it happened, the metallic grinding sound under the hood led me right to the problem!

id imagine that it would be pretty easy to find but i mean becasue before today i hadnt ever seen that so it would have fbeen interesting

Common issue on 6.5 diesels.....except it usually takes out hte crank and/or main bearing webs when it goes.

All a 6.5 balancer has to do is slip, not come completely aart....

It happened on the return of a 120 mile round trip with another truck in tow. Fortunately it didn't go through the radiator, so no choice but to press my luck and keep going!
