With an open diff, you'd get one rear and one front, which is super stable, even on ice

But with a locker in the rear, on ice, it goes all wonky, a lot of push... Its bad... In snow/wet its not bad, but pure ice? Its rough.

And i would just leave it open but i do alot of ice fishing and having a 1 wheel wonder on ice isn't much fun.

Lockers are the worst possible option for snow/ice driving, nothing will put you in the ditch faster... If you have a functioning parking brake it will work as a limited slip and get you moving.
