Not really sure where this would fit in - so figured I would aim here.

I was browsing a couple diesel forums, and I came past a thread that said the frames between 1/2 and 3/4tons were different. I was always under the impression they were the same, the only thing different were the suspension, and brake setup. The frames cant be that much different since parts are interchangable on them.

Talk to "Someotherguy" on Fullsizechevy, he will tell you everything about the frame differences in 1500-3500 trucks, the 3500HD is a totally different frame I believe he said.

There is no difference between an OBS 1500-3500 frame. Now the 3500HD on the other hand is a hole 'bother beast. The NBS and up frames are different between the 1500-3500.

I was looking at an 89 and a 95 in the yard today. Definatlly different on these. The 89 was a 2wd and the 95 was 4wd so the A arms/susspension was different. The 89 front frame horn looked massive (wide) compared to the 95

Note true.

The front 3rd of the 2500+ frames is different than the 1500's at the very least.

That's the exact same frame plate cut from the same .dxf. Notice the 1500 I had to cut about an inch off the bottom as it goes towards the back just behind the motor mount which is on the opposite side?

The 3/4 and 1 ton frames are different than the 1500 in at least a few ways. When I did my sas the front brackets came with a spacer to be used on the 1500 frame because I guess it is thinner than the 2/3500's.
