so with this ... it jus might be it a stepside wood C3500...

The sixth digit in the VIN code will tell if it is a C3500. #1=1/2 ton, #2 = 3/4 ton, #3 = 1 ton

The weight rating puts it in 1/2 ton class. I have never seen a step side short bed 1 ton before.
