I just picked up this truck. 1999 GMC Crew Cab 3/4ton, 4x4 with the 454 and the 5 speed manual. I'm new to the forum, but have been reading through everyone's posts the last week. Truck runs strong, has 194k on it, but feels like it has a lot of life left. Down the line I would like to do a lift on it and rebuild the motor, but for now it is going to stay like it is.

Fantastic, another 454/NV4500 owner. :D Drive it, enjoy it, I have just shy of 285k on mine now and it's still running strong. *knocks on wood* (it's been one of those weeks).

I, too, had the hole-y door syndrome until this summer, after an unfortunate sequence of events I corrected them and gained a third door.

Jealous! 5 speed is the only way to go and it doesn't get any better with the crew cab

Yeah, currently I just plugged the holes with some plastic plugs. The previous owner had bullet stickers over them. Glad to know others have had high mileage out of these.

I have serious truck envy right now. I love crew cabs! Truck looks pretty clean. Enjoy it!
