Factory keyless entry question

Iv had my truck for 2 years and desided I was tired of my keyless entry not working. So I looked up the how to reprogram it, I hooked #4 pin to #8 and it does nothing with or without the key turned on? My power locks work fine but I get no resonce from the vehicle when I connect the two? I cant seem to find a fuse or relay for the locks anywere? Any advice on this I would like to have the factory setup, but I may have to go aftermarket if I cant fix it.

Did you try changing the battery in the fob? Dumb question but it has to be asked.

Yea I started there but I can't even get the truck to respond to get to the programming
