Exhaust pros and cons

Im thinking about running true duel straight pipes. I have pacesetter headers and 70 series flow masters now and it won't pass emissions, but that's no problem. I dont fully under stand what it does to the motor. So What are some pros and cons of running straight pipes and headers?

All the muffler does is quiet it down. Other than that it doesnt affect performance a whole lot unless its a tuned system and the muffler is being used as a resonating chamber. Headers to dual straight pipes wil be fine, won't sound great IMO, but thats up to you. Just make sure to add an H or X pipe if you go with duals
