Engine starting/idling common replacements

guys- 160,000 on my 96-to be proactive on motor and occasional CEL light on, other than EGR valve, Engine idle control unit, what else should be replaced as I’m in there? Had new exhaust w Cats already installed- stock motor. Truck is a keeper and want this ready for another winter coming. Thanks!!

WHY is the CEL light on?

Connect scan tool, read codes and look at data stream.

NONE of the computer-related stuff needs to be replaced "just because" except for O2 sensors which get lazy as they age.

If this is a Vortec 305 or 350, I might be looking for an updated "spider" assembly if the truck still has the old-style spider injection system.
