Hey guys new to this forum but this is the third gmt400 truck Ive owned. Ok i have a 1998 Chevy regular cab short box. Its a k1500 and this summer i plan on doing a solid axle swap and lifting it up to build into a trail/dd truck. but i was looking at some different sas kits and seen on sky mfg that there kit is good fo 88-97 chevy trucks and i was wondering if there was a difference between the 88-97 and the 98 chevy frames? Could someone clarify this for me,

To be honest I don't think there is a difference between them but I'm not 100% sure

The only frame difference I can think of is the idler on 88-97 are 2 bolt and 98-2000 gmt400 are 3bolt.

Check that; 1993 was the first year of the 3 bolt bracket assembly for the idler arm. 1992 was the last year for the one piece assembly with 2 bolts.

That must be it, wow. Learned something today, I never thought there was any difference at all.

F-me, I could have sworn my 97 work truck was 2 bolt and I know my 98 is 3 since I pulled the idler arm couple weeks ago.

again, it's the only difference I can think of and as state, won't effect SAS brackets.

I think its a miss print. If it would help you sleep better, you could shoot them an email and ask them for sure.
