Stripped down motor today for replacement, 96k miles, gonna put new intake, valve cover, and oil pan gaskets. Also gonna put new freeze plugs, water pump, and rear main seal and some paint. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

It is a replacement motor I bought, mine had a lifter that sounded bad when it was started cold and what sounded to me like a wristpin when it was warm. Just ordered the POR15 engine paint, I'll post some pics when it is back together.

Finally got the motor cleaned and put POR15 with chevy blue on it today. A word of advice, stir the top coat very well, I didn't get the thick off the bottom good and it caused me more work when i realized something wasn't right.

Got the oil pan, intake, and valve covers put on. I torqued the intake to 11 ft lbs like it said but it felt like it should be tighter?
