Not with a half tank of gas, 1 jack, and no help it's not.

In your case sliding the bed back is the easier option then. I never have help either so I always have to get creative and this is how I always did my Fords by myself.

Any trouble lining it all back up? also the rear wheels have to come off for that right? as opposed to lifting it sideways or longways they wouldn't have to. Am I incorrect?

Yes the wheels have to come off. Not a big deal lining it back up. There's not much "adjustment" in the holes in the frame.

Any advantages to sliding vs tilting? seems like more work to me unless there is a problem I don't know about.

You don't run the risk of tipping it off the truck if you go too far. If it does, those rear box panels will fold up like a pretzel

My truck died going down the road and would only just crank and crank but not turn over. IMO i would try replacing your dist. cap and rotor first, thats about $30 and about 15 minutes of work, Or it might even be your icm. I never did pay attention to the injectors if they were shooting or not when my problem happened.

i've already ordered the pump and even if that's not the issue at least i'll have a new pump which would need done sooner or later anyway. I plan to keep the truck a LONG time and use it as a farm truck eventually so won't hurt me to invest 60 bucks for a pump.
