That appears on the higher side of normal for the valley, but still nothing to worry about from those pics. And agreed, avoid coastal vehicles.

Thanks. 2nd owner says 1st owner towed a boat. I think the rear axle might say It was towed to the ocean………That appears on the higher side of normal for the valley, but still nothing to worry about from those pics. And agreed, avoid coastal vehicles.
With any used vehicle I ever bought, I change ALL the fluids to get to a base. You will see if any concerns at rear diff if you open the cover up. Hell, while you are in there, do the axle seals.Thanks. 2nd owner says 1st owner towed a boat. I think the rear axle might say It was towed to the ocean………
No a bad idea if you're not familiar what to look for. Can be the $100 that saves thousands. All the more reason to have the vehicle inspected before purchase, if you are worried.
Pinion seal too. With any used vehicle I ever bought, I change ALL the fluids to get to a base. You will see if any concerns at rear diff if you open the cover up. Hell, while you are in there, do the axle seals.
I agree. I go thru them and like to fix/replace before is broke, on all wear items. Like my signature says.Pinion seal too.
Salt in the air did that. When I ran shops, I could pick out a coast vehicle. They have salt corrosion on lots of components and all over the top of engine.I spent 4 years in Okinawa and they'd rust from the top down, not the bottom up as you're looking for.
