Computer question 4.3 to 5.7 tbi

I am currently under way in a 4.3 to a 5.7 swap. Ive read I have to swap the computer from the 5.7 in the place of the 4.3 computer in my trick now, however the 5.7 was originally attached to a auto trans and I'm gonna be running a standard trans on the 5.7. Will I have any problems there ? And was the computer swap entirely nessesary? Thanks

It's not just the computer but also the prom chip. You might have to get a custom chip ir get one from a junk yard. The prom chips are pretty specific. They have gear ratio, transmission type, engine size and other specifics. Try to find a truck with a stick in it and a 5.7 liter engine attached and hope there is a prom chip in the computer.
