After you get it out, make a stud for it, makes things WAY easier in the future, just take a bolt, cut off the head, take some loctite, thread the stud into the intake (Head side into the intake) put on your clamp, washer and a nut.

Also makes putting the clamp and everything back together a breeze!

Yeah 14mm is very close to 9/16's, but I have both metric and standard and the 14mm fit's much better than the 9/16's, and yeah you can never go wrong owning some crowfoot wrench's.

hmm I used my 9/16 dist. wrench on my 88, it was pretty tight when I got the truck.

My buddy's dad had a 97 s-10 4.3 vortec, and that dist. bolt was 10mm. he bought a ratchet end wrench that swiveled up and down, and the other end was open end 10mm, it was still tough but he got it.

Every particular tool set I buy I always buy both metric and sae sets. using the wrong one even tho its close is the quickest way to round out a bolt head if its on real tight and you put alot of torque on it. especially if its old.

for mine it does 14mm wouldn't fit. Mine I think was a mix match of bolts. The motor aint even an 88, it's block casting is 88-95 but suffix must be 95 because I could not find the suffix under 88,89,90,91,92,93,94, and 95 wasn't listed at all any 95's. Not to mention they had a 2wd 700r4 in it with a spacer to take up the tailshaft slack and make the t-case work.

LOl I doubt anything was factory, it was jacked up. Had like 3 different sized bolts on the DS manifold, and 2 sizes on the ps, exhaust manifolds, not intake, but it was all a mess.
