Hello, so, I just bought a Vortec engine already carb'd and cammed. So, I'm going to be putting this into my 93 Silverado cause my 5.7 tbi is nearly shot. As it sits, it has a circle track flat tappet cam in it with an edelbrock Victor intake on it (or the like). They guy I bought it from will be keeping the cam/intake/distributor; so I know I'll need to buy those to replace them. I drive this truck a lot, like about 4 days a week. So I know it's going to be a street build, and I know I want to go roller. I have everything I need to turn it back into a roller motor. Now, this is what I'm thinking.
EFI: FiTech fuel injection (400hp kit)
Fuel pump: Walbro 255 in tank
Intake: Edelbrock Performer Vortec Distributor : Summit blueprinted HEI
Here is where I want some help. With the cam selection. It's a factory stall 4L60e truck, with a factory 3.42 gear and 29" tall tire. It is lowered 5"/7". I've pretty much narrowed it down to 2 different cams. I am open to suggestions, but do want a cam I can hear.
Cam 1: Comp cams xr270hr. It's 218*/224* @.050"--.495"/.503" on a 110* lsa 1600-5400 rpm.

Cam 2: Howard's Racing Cams 183215-10. It's 217*/225* @.050"--.495"/.500" on a 110* lsa 1300-5500 rpm.

I know these 2 are ridiculously similar, I'm just curious if there would be a big difference in the two? It just seems that most everyone raves about the lobes on the extreme energy line of cams from comp. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
