Broken starter boss and an idea... Will it work though?

Oh and I saw this BAD MOTHER Fker at vatozone!

It didn't start. In fact, it's acting exactly like it did when parked in 2013. It just spins and makes a horrible noise (which has to be a chewed up flywheel) It stumbles a few times seemingly wanting to fire after I let off the key though. I haven't checked for spark and I can't confirm fuel pressure although the pump is family new.

White flag is up again, more LS swap parts are being collected.

That's the abendix riding up on top of the teeth on the flywheel because the starter is moving. If you use the brace it will work.

I know it sounds like a chewed up flywheel but that's because the teeth are skipping on top of each other.

I'll take a video tomorrow for you. It's really heart breaking to here it but it's all good. Hasn't been on the road in years.

try turning the motor a bit by hand to get it on a different spot on the flexplate(flywheel) and see if it does the same thing when turning the key

It does, I tried that initially.

the starter may have to be shimmed to line it up to mesh with the flexplate teeth
