Brake lights on the fritz

Hey guys, it seems like every day someone tells me that my brakelights dont work. But when I check them, they do. They are VERY dim when they do work. But my third brake light always works. I think. Any ideas on how to fix this? Or at least what in the world is causing this? 1996 ECSB Chevy. Thanks in advance

Are they stock tails?

Check the ground by the rear bumper.

Check the ground by the rear bumper.

This, then you might need to take a meter to the plug ins and see if you're getting the right amount of power to the lights. If not You should work your way back up to the front checking for short circuits and what not.

Got it. A while back I took my hitch off and forgot to hook the ground back up. Im an idiot haha. Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated
