blown my 94 700r4. will a 92 700r4 work for my truck???

i blew the tranny in my 94 gmc sierra the first gear is gone and i have to start off in second gear then shift into drive ir it misses the gear. im going to pick up a new 700r4 out of a 92 scottsdale. will the trannsmission fit for sure? i just want to make sure.. thanks too anyone who can help me out

Your 94 should have a 4L60E in it. Computer controlled compared to a 700R4 which is controlled via a cable off of the throttle linkage. I'm pretty sure in was 93 when they changed them over to the 4L60E.

hey guys. i just found a 4l60e but its a 2 wheel drive. will i be able to take the tail shaft off and put my t case on??
