Are there any cheap warranty'd shortblock options for a Vortec 350?

So I have this knocking POS out of my truck -
You must be registered for see images attach

It has ~8k (8000!) miles on the following parts-
NEW vortec 062 heads, rockers, pushrods, MPFI conversion
(and 114k miles on the whole truck)

It ran fine, but then the transmission lost 3rd/4th gears and then seized the engine up on the freeway (stalled)...rebuilt the transmission and now it has a bad lower end knock :(

All I really need is a new shortblock and I could swap my top end and accessories over, I'd love to find a 4 bolt main roller shortblock.

Everything I'm finding are complete longblocks for ~$2000-$2200 (Jegs)

(2 bolt)

(4 bolt)

I know how much those heads cost...right around $700. Is there anywhere selling these same engines minus the heads for $700 cheaper?!

Try contacting an engine re-builder close to where you live. I looked online and came across the same stuff... even the better deals I found were thrown out the window when i saw the shipping and then you also have to deal with the cores. I finally gave up on the WEB and made a few calls and found some remans within driving distance for $1400ish... a shop about 10 miles up the road will do a complete head rebuild for about $325 a set.
