im replaceing the a/c system on my 98 chevy truck vortec 350 where is the orific tube? located

Probably on the output or lower side of the condenser coil. Depending on how your truck was built, you may have to remove your RH amber turn signal to access the fitting. Be very careful and use two wrenches to loosen the pipe fittings because they are aluminum and rather flemsy. You may want to invest in an orifice tube puller to help you get the job done. It makes re installing the tube 100% easier. If it's not behind the turn signal than it will be further down the line near the engine on the lower RH side heading towards the cab.
