I just bought my 98 hoe and am looking to run some 285s. Maybe stiffen up the suspension and get a little lift? What do you guys think?

That doesn't matter. Z71's just had skidplates, shocks and stickers

Not in the GMT400 platform. The only differences were extra skidplates, bilstein shocks, and Z71 stickers. I have a non-Z71 Tahoe running 285/75/16's at stock height with only a small trim on the front bumper.

Features that differ from those previously mentioned on the Tahoe Limited included the Z71 off road chassis package (3/4 ton suspension/springs, 46mm (1.8in)Bilsteinshock absorbers, a standard 3.73 rear gear ratio G80 locking differential)

Running 285s with a slight crank, but only because it has a block out back.
