What's your axle ratio? If you are running 3.08s I would not go with any taller tire because it will kill what little performance you have to begin with. If you are running 3.73 and want to have fun don't go too tall. I think the 255/70R15 idea is great myself. I am running 225/70R16 on my 2wd and it's OK, ignoring the 3.08 ratio in the rear. I'll fix that soon enough.

Will a 255-70 fit a 10 inch wheel ?

Go to the tire rack website and look at tire specifications. The specifications will show a minimum and maximum rim width.

For optimal tire life stick to the designated rim widths.

Of course you can see on the Internet people that have mounted a 5 inch wide tire on a 9 inch rim. This is neither safe or advisable, as you would be driving on the shoulder and part of the tire sidewall.
