96 on 35's lacks power.. need help

I have my brakes working perfectly, and ebc stage 5 kit(crossed drilled and slotted and yellow stuff pads). it stops like you wouldn't believe it's actually kinda scary

Those yellows work pretty good, not many people are willing to pony up beyond what they find at Blow Reilly's.

Update. i put stock 17s on from a newer silverado and it kinda holds 5th just still no power really its a slow climb in speed. so I'm pretty sure my 5.0 is worn out. time for a swap also.. anyone on here have 35s on their truck what gears do you have. if I'm swapping them I might as well do it right

I had 315/75/16 34.X" and got 4.88s on my 97 Tahoe (2door), later swapped to a slightly smaller tires, like 295/75/16 33.6", the setup is right for my off-road application; good acceleration of the line.

When going to larger tires, re-gearing is fundamental.

I have your exact setup except auto trans, 305 and 35s and 3.73s... I feel like it runs pretty strong for being 230 and 285... headers and bigger y pipe will help a lot, but a 350 vortec is about 600-700 from a junkyard and then rebuild it if you want... I'm gonna do headers and y pipe and then if I go to a 350, the headers and y pipe will still work

I also have a 96 swb 350 and nv3500 on 33s and 3.73s and it runs considerable better but it also has 2" less tire and has a full exhaust, intake, tune plus it weighs about 800 pounds less

305 tb spacer headers full exhaust and intake. Took the 35s off put 265s on with little change the motor is ****. Had a 350 in my other truck I was going to use but sold it. Come spring It's getting parked.. 6.0 and sas swap
