Nope, that's ECT. I'm about to go have a look at my dually though and see if it has that fan switch in the passenger head.

I think this setup varies over the year models. On my '96 7.4 it did not appear to be PCM controlled.. but then again, the wiring was damaged so the fan was inoperable. I think it was 454CID that mentioned his truck didn't have the passenger side temp switch? He's got a .. '98 or '99 IIRC. Could be way off-base here as it's been 10 years.

I just checked my 99, to be sure. I didn't see anything on the passenger side. I do have the electric fan on that side, too. It's my understanding that AC head pressure, or an ECT over 225F turns it on. The driver's side clearly has the sensor for the dash gauge, However.

Is the ECM-independent passenger side fan switch perhaps specific to the C3500? All of the later model K3500s I have seen with the auxiliary fan had it controlled through the ECM. Interesting...

My dually is an early 97 with the aux fan, no passenger head temp sensor here. You can see the plug quasi blocked by the plug wire.

Gonna be a year model thing, as I'd mentioned earlier. If you look at the vehicle fitment list (which aren't always accurate even straight from GM, but still...) on that part # 12554254 it shows nothing but 1996 models with the 7.4, C2500/K2500 and C3500/K3500's all of 'em.

OP has a '96 K3500 7.4 so I'm persistent in replying as I've had the same setup and can confirm this exists, in hopes y'all will quit telling him that it doesn't.
