FYI - Just ordered a Delphi cap, rotor and MSD wires from Amazon. I'll update the thread after I install them.

The distributer's gear can wear on these trucks too. Wears down to the point that the teeth are as sharp as razors. Just before they let go. This worn gear can cause a miss, pinging, or surging under power. IIRC, the gear is not replaceable, or there is no kit to replace it. Either way, a new dist. was around $80.00.

Where did you get a new dizzy for $80?
