Hi guys I've got a 1998 7.4 vortec and was wondering if gutting my cats would be any benefit to me. In nys cats must be present but don't have to work and since my truck is the 8600lbs 2500hd I don't need to pass an emissions test as well. So is their really any benefits to running open cats? And yes I know the mil will be on that's ok I've removed the bulb from the instrument cluster, I have a scan tool to check things out if I need to. Im pretty sure I heard somewheres that this engine really wakes up with a free flowing exhaust. Well let me know guys thanks.

i was gonna do it to my 454 but i got a new truck so never got the chance someday i will prob just cut em out though since i still use the truck
