Hello.
Last night I was fortunate to find a 5 speed out of a 1992 C1500 with the single front input shaft bearing instead of the dual bearing set up found on my 1990. The shifter assembly was thrown in with the new transmission as well. The seller said that the synchro is going out for 4th gear, which isn't a big deal.
Would like to split the cases and at the very least put all new bearings in the new transmission. I know in 1992 they still retained the four shifter rails. Just would like a factory manual(s) or some sort of accurate reference material before I start to dig into it. Got a PDF of a OE GM manual for my 1990 C1500 but not for a 1992.
My truck is a C1500 step side Silverado with the stock 5 speed and 5.7 with 219K miles.
Thanks in advance.
