I have a 1993 GMC Sierra and am planning on lowering it 4" in the front and 6" in the rear. I currently have 22 inch rims and am wondering if this wheel set up will work or should I consider some different lowering kits? Such as 2/4?

If you want the 4/6 drop, don't even consider a 2/4. You WILL want moar lowa! Oh yea, you will!!! Lol!
22's will work, depending on the off-set. You will probably need to run tires in the 35 or 40 aspect ratio. That ain't a lotta sidewall for these trucks!
