Well I've finally made the decision to get a 383 striker kit instead of calling my 350. I have a few questions though.
-is the 98 5.7 vortec in the 1500 a 1 or 2 piece rear main seal?
-what I'm seeing with 64cc vortec heads my compression ratio will be 11:1 with the flat top pistons included. Will this be to much for a daily driver?
-will this be a good kit for a daily driver?

98 is a one piece rear main.

You can lower your cr a little by getting a thicker head gasket.

Look at the eagle kits on summit racing. Their actually a little cheaper and free shipping. They have kits with dished pistons as well.

You need 1 pc rear main. -10cc flat tops would be less than 11:1

I got treed.

If I get the -22cc flattops, will the cr be low enough with the vortec heads to run 87 octane?
