350 turbo puking fluid

alright,so my 91 step side has always leaked a decent amount of tranny fluid so I figured I'd start looking into it instead of just adding a quart or two of fluid anytime I went out and about. I noticed that my dipstick wasn't big enough going into the trans,so I pulled the dipstick tube from an s10 I had out back and it worked fine,put a new o-ring on it and it didn't leak for a few days..now,the module behind where the dipstick goes is puking fluid out of it,and I can't find out where it's coming from exactly. All I know is,if I had hair I would rip it out lol,every time I fix something on the step side,5 more things become a known problem..is it worth ripping it out and checking,or should I just throw it in the scrap pile and dig out the old 700r4?
