I have 10" x 15" wheels on my truck with 31'' tires now they do stick out but my truck has running boards. Now if your going to 4x4 the tires are going to rub the fenders.

I am running 17x9 wheels with -12mm backspacing wrapped in 265/70R17 tires. My tires stick out about 1 3/4" past the fenders.

Beware though, it slings gravels like mad now. I am looking for fender flares to save my paint as we speak.
