Rain stopped for a bit. If this is it, it's power to the under hood light, or the optional extendable trouble light.

The closest that I have on my 98 goes to the evap canister vent solenoid with red (or maybe pink) and white wires. The evap stuff in your photo looks different. Is it a California emissions truck? Mine isn’t.

Any connectors found loose , 1) many connectors of the same type are used, what colors are in it will narrow it down to where it goes.
2) Most connectors are attached to the wire loom or bundle , and will not have much loose wire. Whether it's 2 inches long or 10 inches , it will have a home close by, with a 2 inch being a 4 inch diameter circle area, or if 10 inch within a 20 inch circle area. Not all will be obvious, use a flashlight, a small mirror. Everything is dark , satin black, more lighting will be easier to pick up the small connector female side with two small pins inside. The hiding in plain sight theory. :waytogo:

It plugs into the side, kind of easy to miss…

Found it, and plugged it in!

Should of left it unplugged lol, P0440 code came up right away. something about evap system.

I wonder how long it has been unplugged for, I just smoged it a few months ago and it passed fine, I wonder if the techs didn't notice it.

Now to add another item to my "need fixing" list

P0440 is a "large" EVAP system leak. Which is kind of good news, should make it easier to find than a P0442 (small leak).
