I remember they used to advertise home electric plating kits. The " skinned knuckles" and another vintage pickup mag had articles on doing your own Nickel, and other plating. If that's something you wanna tackle. Take a little deep searching probably. Good luck!

It's not plating, it's aluminum anodizing. The most common anodizing is dull silver colored but, we used to do gold shower door frames too. We also had a "bright dip" tank that made shiny silver extrusion using a mix of phosphoric and nitric acid called "Phosbright". Google gold anodizing and you may come up with something.

On a serious note, nice truck I like the color a lot. Just a question, how did you get the cadillac keys to work? Is it just the key slot and door locks or is it just a matter of putting it in one of those key cutting machines at a home improvement store?
