1990 2wd 350 , slips on hard accel

so i got the truck running on all 8 finally, but now it seems to shift a little harsh from 1-2 and slips 2-3-od , or slips on all on hard accell. is this thing toast or is there anything i should check? i adjusted the tv, and it got a little better as far as the harshness from 1-2 but still feels like its slipping. it is a 1990 1500 2wd 350 std cab lb with just under 90k miles, fresh filter and fluid

If it's full of fluid the the clutches are probably worn. So time for a rebuild.

thats what i figured, the previous owner messed with the throttle linkage and tv cable, which i think caused the damage

You could try a bottle of Lucas Transmission Fix, it's an old trans but it may help
