Yup, in the 454SS trucks. Don't think they came in anything else, but you never know with gm.

Pretty rare find in the junkyard.

10.5's have at least two different axle widths. Not sure on a 9.5, I don't mess with those much. 10.5 or bigger for this gents use.

Things get even more confusing when you start swapping in 14 bolt axles from previous and newer generations with widths, spring perches, shock mounts, etc. although a little work with a grinder and welder can fix most of that.

Chuck in cab and chassis models and the ever continuously bastardized vans and things get pretty hard to keep track of.

I usually stick to swapping within the same generations. It's not like there aren't enough 14 bolts floating around out there. At least 10.5's there are...:rolleyes:

Oh he just ment fitment issues icic there shouldnt br any fitment issuse as long as you stay with parts from the gmt400 platform

no lol i ment to say the 14 bolt is know for the pumpkin being so large that it is closer to the ground hence why there are kits to trim 2 inches off the bottom for the 10.5 idk about the 9.5

oh had the mud piles up on the bottom of my FF and dries there and I have to pry it off with a screw driver now that I think about it that never happened with my 9.5

u ever lookin into a 10.5 trim kit it takes 2 inches off the housing i think ballistic something makes it
