idk what clearance issues your talking about but I haven't heard anything bad about them
10.5's have at least two different axle widths. Not sure on a 9.5, I don't mess with those much. 10.5 or bigger for this gents use.
Things get even more confusing when you start swapping in 14 bolt axles from previous and newer generations with widths, spring perches, shock mounts, etc. although a little work with a grinder and welder can fix most of that.
Chuck in cab and chassis models and the ever continuously bastardized vans and things get pretty hard to keep track of.
I usually stick to swapping within the same generations. It's not like there aren't enough 14 bolts floating around out there. At least 10.5's there are...
