I know there are better options out there but I have a nearly-new JVC 10.1 KW-Z1000W that I kept from my RAM before I sold it. It’s just sitting in the box waiting for a home.
I‘m planning on putting a double-DIN stereo in my ‘95 but I’m cringing at the thought of having to permanently cut the dash. Flashback to yesterday and it dawned on me that the protrusion that holds the screen on this JVC is actually quite small compared to the size of the double-DIN “box” it’s mounted to.
I’m wondering if I couldn’t mount the unit a bit deeper into the dash and just let the un-cut dash opening cover its perimeter while still allowing the big screen to float out in front of it?
Certainly I could hit the garage and start test-fitting, but I figured I might be able to save myself a bit of time by asking the question here first in case one of you has already done it.
Thanks
