    95 Farm Truck Build

one of my last mods were these big old school tow mirrors they really made the build pop. Used some abs plastic as block offs and sealed everything up with silicone. That’s pretty much the entire build so far. It took me about a year total, and I’m no mechanic, I’m just a hack that likes to...

    95 Farm Truck Build

I finished the metal work and put some sideboards on it. I bought some knockoff KCs and a bunch of gas pipe and put together a very cheap light rack to go in the bed. Which turned out pretty good. The dog liked it at least I then saw a truck with a wood bed in this style with stake sides and...

    95 Farm Truck Build

Then I called back the crane and threw the cab back on and somehow some way everything fit on aligned and bolted up perfect. Not bad for a drinkin man. Next up I decided to tear into the front end and replace literally every part I could get my hands on to brand new and finished the por15...

ECM / PROM Chip for 95 350 swap

Hey guys I’m swapping my 4.3l out and putting a 1995 donor 350 TBI into my 1995 c1500 4l60e. Guy didn’t have a computer for it. Keeping everything stock on the 350 and using 350 intake. Wondering what the correct ECM model number is or prom number for that configuration so that I can buy the...

1995 350 Swap Questions and Clarification

Thanks for the response. I couldn’t handle living in California. My truck is meant for the woods of Indiana. I’ll look them up lol, if it’s too much I’ll just throw another 4.3 in but wanted to explore my options since I’m already gonna have to pull the motor and this swap seemed like the...

    4L60E Transmission not responding

*SOLVED* Sorry jumped the gun a bit making this thread. Novice mechanic that just rebuilt this truck bolt for bolt here. Kept adding gender neutral juice then getting in and rolling in in drive and reverse and little by little she came up to speed. *didn’t really hammer on it just enough to...

    4L60E Transmission not responding

1995 C1500 Freshly swapped a newer used confirmed working 95 4L60E. Came out of a Camaro. Everything bolted up right, just needed to change shift shaft and tailhousing. Remanufactured torque converter installed and gapped correctly. When I opened the trans up it was clean on the inside. Looked...

    Where does this plug go..?

1995 c1500 4.3L Plugging my harness back in after having the cab off for a handful of months. Mated up every plug except for this 10(9) pin plug. Wondering where it goes as I cannot remember or find what it mates to. There is a small cap aside the fuse panel that it fits in but I would like to...

Metal part of the body mounts

I crafted some. Bought a 24” section of 1-1/8 round bar. Lathed it to have a 13/16 bore. Then bought some 3” diameter 1/8” thick mild steel discs and welded them center onto the steel(tube) and bored the face of the disc out center. Then run them thru the rubber bushing and bolt thru the bottom...

    Rotted body mount repair question!

Allright guys I finally got around to this job. Made some hardware to allow for oem fit. I took several measurements with a piece of twine taped center on each body mount hole on the bottom of the cab and I got back the measurements of 47-3/4” from front mount to back mount. Then 52” from...

    Heater Hose Part numbers

@someotherguy So I finally took some pictures. It was not the heater core side I am talking about. I didn’t cut those pipes but just the rubber to get the hoses off. This appears to be threaded into the water pump. It is not to be confused with an AC line as I removed those. It goes on the...

    Heater Hose Part numbers

1995 c1500 4.3L v6 Hey forum. I pulled the cab off my truck and the heater hoses had to be cut off the two ports on the firewall to the heater core. I am having trouble finding the replacement parts. I need the two hoses with the aluminum piping that runs from the two ports on the firewall...

Huge torque converter gap after trans swap

Allright so I’m a bit of a drunk I’ll admit: I forgot to torque down the bellhousing completely with my big muscles. The gap is now true 1/4” I’m gonna slap some 1/8” washers on there and leave 1/8” clearance on the back side and call it good. Sound about right to you guys?

Huge torque converter gap after trans swap

Should I shim it until there is zero gap all the way from the pump to the crank? Probably get longer bolts too?

Huge torque converter gap after trans swap

Let me clarify what I mean. So once I have everything installed. I can slide the torque converter flush with the flex plate but the 5/16 exists between the pump and the TC. Is that normal? Note my engine is the 4.3 vortec.
