    you take the transfer case apart to get the metal shavings out, they more than likely wont just come out the drain holes

    did ya actually take the transfer case apart and really scrub er out? My 98 takes a few seconds to click out but i never go over 30 mph in 4wheel drive

    Some older trucks you have to put it in reverse to unlock the 4X4, its not a transfer case problem and if theres somethin else wrong id probably change the transfer case oil with 3 quarts of tanny fluid and clean out the metal shavings in it.
