    1998 5.7 performance upgrade recommendations

What heads would you recommend? I just assumed since my truck has the vortec heads it would be good and that's when I reasoned having them ported and polished but I'm absolutely not opposed to throwing a new set of heads on it, especially if it would be worth it. Currently I daily drive this...

    1998 5.7 performance upgrade recommendations

I have a 1998 k2500, and I'm starting to heavily think about performance upgrades. I've gone through most of my suspension, steering and brake components and finally made it here. I've already done a full exhaust system, egr delete, and a blackbear baseline tune. I've been thinking about having...

    Front end rebuild

$45 for all 4, which I feel will probably increase, he confidently said with their tools it will only take them 30 minutes. I assume it will at least take them an hour which they charge 90 per hour and even then I would still be doing good pricewise, but we'll see.

    Front end rebuild

Id love to buy some kryptonite parts but they're just outside of my price budget, seems like proforged are the next best ones compared to the supersteers and at not a terrible price, until kryptonite makes one as you said that is.

    Front end rebuild

Also went ahead and bought some GSP heavy duty cv axles to replace mine. As far as I'm aware my current steering box is good so I'm going to hold off on it, but when I do replace it, I'm going to buy a red head and delete the rag joint.

    Front end rebuild

I almost did purchase the complete control arms but instead I called my local shop and he said he could remove the old bushings and press in the new ones on the uppers and lowers all for $45 if I just dropped them off. I just ordered bushings separate and plan on just having him mess with them...

    Front end rebuild

Good to know, I would have bought bilisteins but just needed something better right away while I was working on it a year ago and that was readily available. So far the Ranchos have been great as the og shocks were completely shot but I believe they were about 50 dollars a peice, close to a 50...

    Front end rebuild

I also considered getting a cognito idler arm support but figured I'd just hold off for now. Does anybody that has them say they are worth the extra money?

    Front end rebuild

I actually did new wheel bearings, wheel hubs, brake pads, brake calipers, and brake hoses last year. I figured I could just do the rag joint eliminator whenever really, and thought I'd just wait out the current steering gear box (unless my current one is leaking which it might be) and also wait...
