They lighting is all wired up, batteries in place, circuit breakers breaking circuits. One last large wire to the starter is all that's left for the charging/ starting systems. Next is pulling the timing cover to replace a bad reluctor ring. Then the radiator can go in and she can start!

Have a look. The battery mounts were added to be uniform and hold the big heavy Odyssey batteries in place. I have it all bolted in before I add the windshield reservoir. Wiring is about 98% just a wire to the starter and that should do it. All lights work all systems are functional. Next is...

    99 K2500 Burb Adventure/Camping/Hunting Rig

Just a quick tidbit about oil pressure on L29. Stock oil pump is massive, flows a high amount of volume. High pressure usually indicates a higher viscosity oil. I run Delo 15w40 diesel oil and Lucas oil additive. At idle I'm right around 58 to 62psi and up to 80 if I'm hauling ass. Before the...

A few more photos. Got the harness for the load sensor about 80% complete. Tucking wires and adding hold downs will be all that's left. Drivers battery just needs bolts and she can go in for good. I'm trying to wrap this up so the new radiator and fans can go in.

Wrapping up on the charging and transfer circuits. Passenger battery is all but finished. Added some sheathing to the alt wire and a support so it's not getting whipped around. SS hardware where available.

Got to try out the weather tight connectors on my battery meter. Looks pretty good and the crimp pins crushed the wire properly. Some of those super cheap kits provide very soft metal and often times crack when crimped or deform to a point where the pin can't be inserted into the connector.

For the drivers side battery tray, I picked up a section of 2" L stock and made a support plate so the battery weight isn't sitting on the washer fluid bottle. The metal plate just needs some bolt holes and it'll be good. No need for vents or leak tray since these bad boys are sealed (Odyssey...

I have the build thread and discussion. That wire was the original 1999 cable, and yes it did have acid leak down to the frame, neutralized the acid and treating the bare metal. I'll then add a nice thick layer of under carriage rubber coating basically like bed liner. I've done other sections...

A few more of the wiring. All old wiring is gone, stringing new stuff and got most of the lights hooked up to the control module. I'm hand making each section of wire which is easy once you have the proper tools. No crimping needed if you've got a butane torch, solder, etc.

The big one is about 28lbs, he's part some crazy huge breed, but we also have to keep his food out of reach or he'll eat everything. He's always trying to eat dog food. Also got a killer deal on new wire that I ferl is appropriate for 140 Amp circuit. Picked up all stainless steel hardware for...

I had to modify the battery mounts a bit, apparently the optima 34 uses the side plates that I lopped off. Also had the bend the hinges to an angle where the hinge fit properly over the top of the Odyssey batteries.

New Grill came in. I'm digging the black surround instead of the chrome. New GMC badge as well once I figure out the best way to screw on those little nuts that look like washers.

It has several options to mount, such as flush against the dashboard, or it has a hinge that swings 180 degrees to mount it in any direction you can bolt the hinge section to.

Man do I regret cutting up my original Grill. I wanted to put the GMC back up front an do some trick lighting. I had to order a replacement and it wasn't cheap. Neither was an OEM grille with black trim instead of chrome. It should work well with the theme.

Just got the 8 gang switch, this thing is solid state and water tight. Very cool setup plus I can get rid of all the switches all over my dash and have just 1 centralized and dimmable display.

Control device delivered. This will mean I can ditch all the inline fuses and random relays all over. I can run everything into a small box, and since I need a Fan override switch, this will have all my lights and fan in one spot.

Battery mounts are here, did a quick test fit and it's snug, but they will fit. A lot of the excess wiring harnesses are on the front drivers side where the new battery will go. Once I'm done cutting everything down and organizing it will be a nice clean space.

I deal with this constantly, even with a few parts counters. I usually search for 98 or 97 when looking for parts for Black Betty. I would venture to say that nearly everything with a few exceptions will fit. Headers can only be so specific before they need adjustments once going in. We had...
